Fieldcamp

Field camp is an experience which you will never forget. Having to carry Full Battle Order walking in tactical movement for 6 km under heavy rain from rubber plantation to oil palm plantation. Walking around the camp site at night with only dim red light, trying hard not to lose any items or trip over the roots. Digging your own shit hole and doing your business with people looking at you. Digging your own grave under hot sun and sleeping in it with insects like centrepede during the night, fearing rain and fearing bites.

On a lighter note, you get to enjoy the music of the wild, the picturesque view of sunset, the calming flow of tekong river. And not to forget, the gratitude when given 2 green bottles of water to bath during technical break, the happiness when recieving fresh rations for our hard work.

People who never been through NS will never understand how fortunate they are to be living in such comfortable environment. All these do not come by easy. It is the hardwork our forefather pay for us and we are sitting on the fruits they bear. It is a luxury to be able to sleep on the comfortable bed, a miracle to be able to bath in warm water, a gift to be showered with lights.

To the female and those males who have yet to go through NS, would you understand what i am talking about? Taking things for granted is the last thing human should do.
